Classes will be taught by master gardeners and professional horticulturists including :

  • Low-cost, low-water ways of growing vegetables and berries
  • Small-space gardening: containers, raised beds, and trellises
  • Growing a year-round garden in the Bay Area
  • Bio-intensive practices for large yields in small spaces
  • Drought-tolerant, low-upkeep landscaping
  • Planting, pruning, and caring for fruit trees
  • Growing strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries
  • Dealing with gophers, voles, bugs, and other pests
  • Gardening for seniors and how seniors can add years to their lives through gardening
  • Propagation: how to start plants from seeds and cuttings
  • Composting made easy; saving money on soil amendments
  • How to set up a simple aquaponics system in the home
